About Blaque Butterfly Designs
Encouraging Caregivers Through Faith, Creativity & Grace
Blaque Butterfly Designs was created from a place of love, transition, and truth.
My journey into caregiving didn’t begin with a single moment—it unfolded over time. It started with small, everyday acts of support: helping my parents pay bills, taking them shopping, or picking up things they needed. At that stage, they were still independent in many ways—able to care for themselves, manage their routines, and take their medications.
But life shifted.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, caregiving became something deeper, heavier, and more consuming. In 2020, my mother was diagnosed with early-stage dementia, and everything changed.
In that season, I felt alone.
I wrestled with the quiet fear that my personal goals and dreams would have to be placed on hold. I found myself withdrawing from the things I once loved. The joy, the gatherings, the freedom—I slowly let them go. Somewhere along the way, my identity began to feel wrapped up in one role: caregiver.
In 2025, my father passed away—and with his passing came another shift.
He had been a steady presence, someone who could sit with my mother so I could step away, even if just for a moment. After he was gone, that sense of freedom I once had became even more limited. The weight of the household responsibilities and daily care fell more heavily on me.
And yet, I am grateful.
I am blessed to have a family that shows up. My siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews have been a constant source of support, helping to carry the load and care for my parents. While I carry the day-to-day responsibilities of being present 24/7, I do not walk this journey alone—and I recognize that not every caregiver can say that.
That perspective changed me.
Before my father’s passing, I was preparing to launch a graphic design business—creating flyers, invitations, logos, t-shirts, and more under BB Design. But through my experience, and through connecting with other caregivers, my purpose became clearer.
I realized caregivers need more than support—they need to feel seen.
That is when Grace for the Journey was born—a product line created specifically for caregivers. A reminder that even in the most challenging seasons, there is still grace. Still strength. Still purpose.
BB Design is more than a business—it is a testimony.
It is a space created to remind caregivers that they are not alone. That your journey matters. That your identity is still whole, even as you care for others.
Like the butterfly, transformation is not easy—but it is beautiful.
And even in the midst of caregiving, you are still becoming.
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’”
